This issue is composed of a study dedicated to the fortifications of Monaco, while another article talks about the coin of the principality. Among the residences built on the rock, the « Desert » and its garden occupied a special place. Built in 1718 following a princess wish, it was successively the residence of the first governor of Monaco, then a casino and was demolished in 1889 to be substituted by a school. Nowadays, it is situated for a part, on the FANB school, and the other part is presently occupied by the government. (full text in French)
